Day of the Child

In September 2016, Dream Steps was a partner in a celebration for the Day of the Child at a school in Quetzeltepeque, about 5-6 hours outside of Guatemala City. The children had cupcakes and received some little gifts, got to break open pinatas, and had fried chicken for lunch. For many of the children, this was the first time that they had eaten fried chicken, and about half of them saved their chicken to bring it home to their mothers. In addition, each child was able to bring home a bag that contained beans, rice, and spaghetti.
